Creating a custom digital art rendering begins with a good quality photo.
Photographs work best when they are well focused, well lit, and the featured subject occupies a significant portion of the overall image. Avoid choosing a photo where the person is part of a large group or images where the person’s face is fuzzy, washed out (too light) or obscured by shadows (too dark). The more facial detail we have to work with the better the final outcome will be.
High resolution digital camera images work well and can be uploaded quickly and easily during the ordering process. For best results, photos taken from a digital camera should always be captured at the highest resolution the camera can accomodate.
Printed photos will need to be scanned before placing your order. Make sure to clean the dust and smudges off the scanner glass and ALWAYS use the 300 dpi setting when you scan images for uploading to Beloved Art. Your scanned photo can be saved as a JPEG or TIFF file using the last name of the person to be featured in the portrait. Make sure your scanned image is ready to upload BEFORE you begin the ordering process. Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions about scanning your printed photos for uploading.
NOTE: We can also work with traditional prints but our turn-around time begins only after we receive the actual photograph through the mail or courier service. When sending photos to Beloved Art, make sure to use an appropriate photo mailer or similar packaging to protect your valuable pictures during shipping.
Beloved Art and ProVisual Design, Inc. maintain copyright protection for all original art renderings and honor the copyrights of other professional art and photography sources. Photos provided for custom digital art rendering which are protected by copyright restrictions must be authorized by the copyright holder to be used in the creation of a derivative art print. When placing an order the customer accepts responsibility and implies that they have secured such releases when they “upload” the photo for manipulation.
